Testing in the overall system
The challenge
Vehicles are not always available for testing, very expensive and oftentimes testing is “only” possible in real-time.
Replacing ECUs within a vehicle is often not easily feasible.
In development, not all ECUs are always at the same stage of development. Nevertheless, tests should already be feasible for some new ECUs.
Installing necessary measurement equipment inside a real car can be challenging.
Manipulating framework conditions in the real world is oftentimes complex or even impossible.
